Question from Jon Emerson

Hey there, i have some Dynafit speedfit 10 bindings mounted on Nordica Enforcer 104 free and am looking for brakes but all the 105mm are sold out everywhere, are there any other Brakes compatible with my setup?
11/27/2024
Answer from Jeff

Jon, Yes, the Speedfit and Speed bindings were updated and renamed Blacklight. So the Blacklight 105mm brake here will work for you.

Question from Ryan

Howdy,

I'm between getting the ST rotation 90mm or 105mm brake. The brake broke on one of them and I can't figure out size they installed. The ski is 96mm underfoot. Which should I get?
11/19/2024
Answer from Emmett I

Hi Ryan,

I'd go with the 90mm brake. You might need to bend them to fit, but the 105 will stick out quite a bit. Make sure you only bend the brake arm, as opposed to pulling the whole assembly wider.

Hi Dan, no, you need the Radical ST brakes for the Rotation 7. The 100mm will work for you.

Question from Sammy D

Hi,

I have the Dynafit Radical Speed bindings on a 106 waist ski. I want to buy ski brakes for it. Which ski brakes are compatible with my set up? Thanks!
2/2/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Sammy,

The Speed Radical you have is a brakeless binding - Dynafit does not make a brake for it. However, luckily, Kreuzspitze does! For a permanently mounted brake, check out the  Kreuzspitze Heel Brake for the Speed Radical. It will mount under the heel piece (you will need to back out the mounting screws and then screw them back in).

Question from Shawn Taylor

does anyone have a video on how to swap out brakes on the Rotations?
1/27/2024
Answer from Jeff

Shawn, Not that I have seen. You remove the large silver lateral adjustment screw. Make sure the cap inside is out. You rotate the heel till the pins are pointed to the back. The brakes will sort of be in the way, you will need to manipulate the brakes so you can do that.

Question from Tish

Hi there - I have the Rotation ST 10 120mm and am looking to replace the brake for 100mm ideally (I'm re-mounting on skis with a 94mm waist). Can I make it work with the Radical ST 100mm?
Appreciate your help... Dynafit made their naming system super confusing!
Thank you!
5/13/2023
Answer from eric

Tish- With a Rotation ST you need to stay with the rotation base plate/brake. The Radical ST brake is a completely different binding system. For a 94mm waisted ski, the 90mm brake would work just fine.

Thank you, Eric! Does the Rotation ST brake come in 95 or 100mm, or do they only go up in 15mm increments?
5/13/2023

Letitia- Sorry they only come in 90mm and 105mm widths. Nothing in between.

I also have the Rotation ST 10 with 120 brakes. I’ve purchased the 105 brake assembly replacement. I can’t figure out how to remove the heel piece from the brake base plate. Can anyone assist?
1/27/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Shawn, the trick is to turn the pins to face exactly backwards after removing the innards. That disengages the bayonet lock and it comes right off.

Question from Doug

This is the second rotation brake that failed on me. The springs break off at heal pad. I was able to replace this with another rotation brake the first time, but now I don't see these available. Is a radical brake compatible? What are my options?

Answer from Jeff

Doug, We will have more in stock very shortly. No other model is compatible.

Sorry don't have answer, but only another question...Have this same problem with the ST Rotation 10, and have a replacement base plate, but I can't figure out how to remove the turret. Can you please provide direction on how to remove the turret? I have removed the large DIN adjustment screw and springs and small cap that abuts the pedestal, but cannot lift the turret off the pedestal. Very aggravating! This should be easy, right?
2/10/2023
Answer from jbo

Hi Mark, the pins need to be facing rearwards (180 degrees from ski position).
2/10/2023
Answer from Mark C

Eureka -- I had rotated to every other position, but the brake mechanism was blocking 180. After forcing turret around to 180 it pulled right off and took me under 5-minutes to swap in the new base plate....much appreciated! I had about an hour into it prior, aargh.

Question from Sean

I have a pair of dynafit ST rotation 12s and when in tour mode the heel AFD plate doesn’t come flush with the rest of the binding (creating a small space). This just creates a lot of “jiggling “ aka noise while skinning uphill as the brakes jiggle. Is this normal for this model?
1/14/2023
Answer from Niko M

Hi Sean,
This is consistent throughout the Dynafit ST rotations. The likely intention is to reduce the overall rigidity, preventing any damage associated with stiffer brake components.

Question from Jimy Valenti

Hi,

I would like to put these bindings on a 116mm underfoot ski. What brakes do I need to do that? I can't tell what kind of bindings I have.
12/7/2022
Answer from jbo

Hi Jimy, those are Dynafit Radical ST bindings. The 110mm brakes might fit, but it could be a stretch. Next size up is 130mm.

Question from Paul D

See the picture. I'm looking for a pair of brakes for these oldish GT Vertical bindings (I've got older ones!). While I did see "Vertical" in the questions thread, I didn't see any pictures that I recognized. My skis are 112 under foot. Can you sell me something that will work with these? Thanks!
12/5/2022
Answer from jbo

Hi Paul, sadly 100mm is the widest brake still available for that binding. Occasionally we get some in our used parts section.
12/5/2022
Answer from Paul D

OK, so I'm looking around the used market for Vertical 110s or 120s?

Hi Paul, there were no 120s, so 110.

Question from Eric K

Will the Speed 90mm work with Dynafit speed turn and are they easy to remove for uphill? Otherwise, would the Kreuzspitze tech brake be easier?
11/18/2022
Answer from Jeff

Hello Erik,
NO, the Speed only work with the Speed, now Blacklight, binding. The Speed Turn is a brakeless binding. Only the Kreuzspitze brake is designed to work with those or the Speed Radical bindings.

Question from Rachel

Just bought a pair of what I believe to be Radical ST 130s (secondhand but new in box). Before they arrive I was hoping to order brakes that fit the skis I plan to mount these on (92mm). I’m not familiar with the different types of Radicals, but I was hoping you could tell me which brakes are compatible using the attached photo. Thanks!

Answer from jbo

Hi Rachel, you nailed the identification. You want the Radical ST 92mm brakes.

Question from Steve Schwabauer

I over rotated the adjustment screw on a 2022 dynafit st rotation 10 binding. Can I remove the binding form the baseplate and replace it with the baseplate on your site. Yes I’m a total idiot. Point taken
11/12/2022
Answer from jbo

Hi Steve, it happens! Best to turn that by hand close to the end. But yes, the baseplate + brake is swappable. Go ahead and order a new one and we can send you instructions on how to move the heel tower over...just add a note in your order or send an email. You will need to unmount and remount the plate, including sealing.

Question from Dan

Hi, I have a set of Speed Radicals with leashes instead of brakes. Is there anything on the market to add brakes to them or am I stuck? Thanks!
10/25/2022
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Dan,

The Speed Radical Heel Turret will fit on a Radical ST brake, but it lacks the plastic piece that will hold the brakes down on the way up.

Your best bet are the Kreuzspitze Heel Brakes. You will need to unmount the heel to install, and add one more hole in your top sheet.

Question from Simi

Hi, trying to mount my bindings (Radical FT?) On smaller skis. Are the brakes replaceable or am I out of luck? Thanks!
10/18/2022
Answer from Will McD

Hey Simi, those brakes can be swapped out by taking off the heel turret and attaching it to the new baseplate which will have the brakes integrated into the design. Unfortunately, we don't have any Radical FT brakes in stock and you may have some trouble finding them as the Radical FT is a discontinued binding.
